isometrical game

The definition of a isometric game is a game that uses a parallel projection but which the angle is to reveal facets of the environment that would otherwise not be visible from a top down perspective or side view.

Some examples of isometric games are fallout, project Zomboid and Diablo 2

This game fallout was created the 10th of October 1997 and is a isometric game as seen by the perspective of the camera

The game project zomboid was created in April in 2011 this game is also isometric as also seen by the camera angle and the style of the game

Diablo 2 was released on the 28 June 2000 and is also isometric because of the angle of the game which allows a more practical view of the game.

For the game I will be making a block like character as seen in these images this will be influenced from games like Roblox and Minecraft

This is the model that i made for the game it is very simple but will be changed when needed to something more in the style of the game

To create this model i used maya and made simple shapes to quickly make a character for the game.
Tools that were used to make this was the extrude tool

a problem a ran into is that the head kept inverting for some reason but was easily fixed by keeping it a
 normal size

Doing this model i didn't learn anything as it was quite a simple and easy task to do i did kind of learn to fix the head by not making the head to small

This is my grass texture which will be implemented into the game

i will be creating a spider and the images below show how it is made

i couldn't do the spider so i decided to change it and create a boat to sit in the water and to have a object to jump onto

how is trig used in games:
to convert the speed and the direction of an objects to coordinates
trig is used in writing the programs for games so that objects can move

These are games that use vectors:

the map for the game has been designed using unity here are the stages of the map creation

Here is the basic platforms that will be used for the level which will be colored and made into something nicer and more themed for the game. this will be the foundation of the game which will be transformed into a level

Next some models were added that me and my team created. The platforms added was also colored to make it look more friendly and vibrant some tiles were added to jump between to reach the end of the level by parkouring your way over

a bridge was then created and colored using the copy and paste tool to replicate and keep the consistency of the bridges length to make it look even and neat.

some rocks and bushes were added for a more realistic feel to the level

What went well:
The things that went well in this project for me personally was designing the models for the game i believe that the models were well designed and had quite a lot of detail in them. another thing that went well was the ideas for the project which were well presented by all of the team members.

What went wrong:
things that went wrong was i didn't have time to make a better character for the game and we didn't mange to complete everything in time

Final thoughts/What was Learned

in this project i learned to create designs of maps and models to use for a game.
